Permeable car park gone wrong in Tamworth. Limestone type stone used as laying course has calcified through hydration and movement forming almost concrete like hardness and impermeability.
They are ripping up blocks, laying course and geotextile. Putting these surface layers back, all new except dust off and re-use blocks. Sub base shown isn't great and could do with levelling off with single size stone before geotextile is laid.
There is a drainage system of concrete weirs and perforated pipes within the sub base. It would be a good time to clean and repair this.
The new 2-5mm laying course stone being delivered. It is a granite type stone so it will be very hard wearing.
